As New Zealand’s professional body for engineers, we know you view Continuing Professional Development (CPD) as a cornerstone of the services we provide and want to see a wider range of offerings, including more technical and specialist content. That’s why we’ve been investing heavily in enhancing the CPD experience.

This year saw a range of new content added to the CPD catalogue, including some free options for members. We’ve also introduced significant improvements to make CPD planning and participation more accessible and effective. 

​

For starters, a new CPD Framework, which aligns with the CPD catalogue, is now available on our website. This framework guides you through your professional development journey, grouping activities into three competency domains – core, professional, and technical – and three learning pathways – understanding, applying, and sharing. This structure empowers you to plan CPD that aligns with your career stage, aspirations, and areas of focus.

The CPD Catalogue has also been revamped to make finding and selecting learning opportunities simpler. With a wide range of filters, you can easily locate courses and activities that match your specific needs, allowing for seamless integration of learning into strategic career planning.

These enhancements are designed to ensure you stay at the forefront of your profession, develop your expertise, and meet evolving industry demands. Whether working toward Chartership, maintaining registration, or expanding your skill set, you and other members now have better tools and resources to achieve your goals.
